Unspent is a notebook, not an oracle.
Every countdown and total is built from what you typed plus a benefits catalogue we build from issuer pages and check before it goes live. Issuers change credits, cycles and enrolment rules without telling anyone. Confirm with your issuer before you count on a credit, and never treat the fee maths as financial advice.

Terms of Service

Effective date: 10 September 2026 Last updated: 28 September 2026

Unspent is operated by OptimAIze LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Unspent (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Unspent is, and what it is not

Unspent helps you keep track of benefits and credits that come with credit cards you already hold. You tell us which card products you have, give each one a nickname and a renewal date, and we show you which benefits have not been used yet and when they reset.

Unspent is an informational tool only. It is not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. It does not connect to your bank, does not hold or move money, and cannot claim, redeem, or activate any benefit on your behalf. Every action still happens between you and your card issuer.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card issuer, bank, or merchant. Product names are used only to identify the cards you tell us you hold.

2. The benefit information is not guaranteed

This is the most important thing in this document, so it is not buried.

Card benefits change constantly. Issuers change amounts, add and remove merchants, introduce enrolment requirements, target offers to some cardholders and not others, and grandfather older accounts onto different terms. Our catalogue is compiled from publicly available issuer materials — read and cross-checked with the help of automated systems, including AI language models — and reviewed periodically, but:

  • It may be out of date, including at the moment you read it.
  • It may be wrong for your specific card, because benefits vary by product variant, issue date, region, and account history.
  • A benefit we list may not exist on your account at all.
  • A benefit that does exist may have terms, exclusions, or deadlines we do not show.

Always confirm with your card issuer before relying on anything you see in Unspent. Your issuer's own terms govern; ours do not.

Reset dates, days-remaining counts, and totals are calculated estimates based on the renewal date you enter and our understanding of how that benefit resets. If you enter the wrong renewal date, the dates we show will be wrong.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Unspent, or 16 if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Your account

You sign in with an email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure, because anyone who controls it can access your account.

We never ask for, and you must never enter, a card number, security code, expiry date, bank login, or any other payment credential. Unspent has no field for these and no use for them. If any page or message ever asks you for one while claiming to be Unspent, it is not us.

5. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • Use the Service in a way that breaks any law
  • Access, scrape, or copy the benefit catalogue in bulk, or use it to build a competing dataset
  • Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure
  • Submit deliberately false benefit reports, or otherwise try to corrupt data other people rely on
  • Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation

We may suspend or terminate accounts that do these things.

6. Your contributions

You can add your own benefits and reminders, and you can tell us when a benefit we list is not present on your account. You keep ownership of what you write. You grant us a licence to store it and to use it to operate and improve the Service, including in aggregated and anonymised form — for example, "17% of holders of this card report this credit is missing" — which is how we find and fix errors in our catalogue.

We do not publish your individual reports, and we do not attribute them to you.

7. Free tier and paid plan

Unspent is free to use for up to two cards, with every benefit type, the fee report, reminders and export included.

A paid plan (Unspent Plus, currently $2.49 per month, with the first month free) unlocks tracking more than two cards and sharing your cards with a household. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe.

Billing runs through the app store — Apple's App Store or Google Play — under their terms. They take the payment, manage renewal, and handle cancellation and any refund; we never see or store your card or payment details. A subscription renews until you cancel it, which you do in your app-store account. If a subscription lapses, you keep every card and all the history you already have — you are only prevented from adding cards beyond the free limit and from sending new household invitations.

We may change the plan or its price. If we do, we will make the change clear before it takes effect, and a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

We may also show you promotions for our own products inside the app. These are always labelled and always dismissible. Other than the affiliate card offers described in Section 14a, we do not sell advertising space to third parties, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone. See the Privacy Policy.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee the Service will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we do not guarantee that any reminder or notification will be delivered, delivered on time, or delivered at all.

Do not rely on Unspent as your only reminder for anything that matters to you financially.

9. Our intellectual property

The Service, its design, and its software are ours or our licensors'. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time, from the profile screen on the web or in the mobile app. Deletion removes your account and the data associated with it, as described in the Privacy Policy. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where we reasonably can, we will give you notice and an opportunity to export your data.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We specifically disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, currency, or reliability of any benefit information, reset date, monetary amount, or calculation shown in the Service.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

(a) We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service — including, specifically, any benefit, credit, or reward you did not claim, claimed late, or claimed in error, whether or not we showed you incorrect information about it, and whether or not a reminder failed to reach you.

(b) Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (i) US$50, or (ii) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in this paragraph limits anything described in (c).

(c) Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or under any applicable consumer protection law. If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights that these Terms do not affect.

(d) Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Where a limitation is unenforceable, it applies to the maximum extent permitted.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own breach or wrongdoing.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.

14a. Card offers and commission

Unspent carries no advertising and no affiliate links today. If that changes, we may be paid a commission when someone applies for a card through a link here.

Two things will remain true if it does. Any such link will be marked as one where we are paid, at the link itself. And it will not change what the app tells you: what a benefit is worth, when it resets, and whether a card's benefits cover its fee are computed from our catalogue and from what you tell us, and never from what an offer pays us. Section 6's warning still applies either way — confirm anything that matters with your issuer.

Card offers and affiliate links are intended exclusively for residents of the United States. If you reside outside the United States, these offers are not intended for you and will not be displayed.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

For US residents (arbitration and class-action waiver): You and we agree that any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court. You and we waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action. Either party may instead bring a qualifying individual claim in small-claims court in Sheridan County, Wyoming, or in your county of residence.

For non-US residents: You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms. If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, nothing here deprives you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring legal proceedings in your local courts.

16. General

Notices will be sent to the email address on your account. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms are the entire agreement between us about the Service. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

17. App Store provisions

If you download the Service from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, and not Apple, are solely responsible for the Service. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Service. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Service. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
